Description: On September 14, 2014, Plaintiff was on a street in Brooklyn speaking with friends when he heard a gunshot. Frightened, he ran back to his home across the street and on his way encountered NYPD officers including defendants Redmond and Phillips. Plaintiff was illegally searched and asked if he knew anything about the gunshots, to which he replied no, just that he was running away to avoid being injured. Despite his response, Plaintiff was arrested and transported to a police precinct where the officers falsely informed the D.A. that Plaintiff had been trespassing. Plaintiff was released and all charges were dropped at his arraignment hearing 24 hours later.
