Description: Defendant Officers were called to the hospital on suspected child abuse after Plaintiff's daughter was hospitalized. For almost 24 hours, Plaintiff and her husband were subjected to multiple interrogations, searches of their home by three separate squads, and forensic interrogations. Defendants falsely concluded that the child died of Shaken Baby Syndrome and charged both Plaintiff and her husband with Manslaughter in the First Degree and Endangering the Welfare of a Child. Plaintiff's husband was convicted of reckless manslaughter and the charges against her were dismissed. Plaintiff alleges she was prosecuted to put pressure on her husband to plead guilty.
