Description: On November 22, 2013, at approximately 12:00 p.m., plaintiff was arrested by NYPD officer Mohammed Aryakia and another unidentified officer on Broadway and Chambers Street, New York. Plaintiff was handcuffed and placed in a police van, where he repeatedly complained that the handcuffs were too tight and causing him shoulder pain. His complaints were ignored and he was driven around for five hours, then taken to a precinct where he continued complaining of shoulder pain and his pleas for medical assistance were ignored. After his release, plaintiff sought medical attention and was diagnosed with a rotator cuff tear, requiring surgery.
