Description: On March 17, 2012, Plaintiffs were lawfully present in Liberty Plaza as a part of the Occupy Wall Street movement. NYPD agents raided the plaza and the Plaintiffs were arrested. In the course of their arrest, the Plaintiffs were harmed and mistreated. Plaintiff Carter’s arm was twisted by one officer while another officer kicked him in the abdomen several times. Other officers placed him face down in the ground and handcuffed him with his hands behind his back. Carter told the officers that his handcuffs were hurting him and the officers did not respond.
