Description: On August 31, 2022 at around 5:30 pm Plaintiff Godfrey Coggins was lawfully in the vicinity of East 194th Street and Marion Avenue, Bronx, NY and was doing nothing illegal, improper or acting suspicious in anyway. Defendant Police Officer Marcus Emily and two unnamed defendant police officers from the NYPD absent an arrest warrant approached the Plaintiff and for no reason stopped, searched, grabbed, assaulted, battered and detained him in an aggressive and excessive manner. Plaintiff was subjected to a strip searched while in custody of the defendants. Plaintiff remained incarcerated for over twenty-four (24) hour until being released after arraignment.
