Description: On June 26, 2022, Plaintiff was working at his customary job at ShopRite when Giuliani entered for a typical campaign "meet-and-greet." While Giuliani was among his supporters, Plaintiff placed his hand on Giuliani's back and called him a "scumbag." Video footage captured the entire encounter. Someone called 911 and police officers arrived on the scene. Giuliani falsely claimed to the officers that Plaintiff smacked him very hard on the back and his back hurt. Officer Matthew T. McCarthy, at Giuliani's insistence and on orders from Sergeant Milatta, falsely arrested Plaintiff for a violent felony offense without reviewing the video.
