Complaint
Description: On May 30, 2020, the Plaintiff was lawfully present on the street observing, but not participating in an encounter between police and protestors. The Plaintiff was standing near a gate when several NYPD officers charged the crowd with riot shields in hand. The Plaintiff was purposefully charged and assaulted by NYPD Defendant John Doe. Defendant P.O. McCann (Shield No. 14257) was present when the assault occurred. The Defendant NYPD officers then left the Plaintiff. The Plaintiff was taken to hospital by ambulance and was never cuffed or charged with a crime. The Plaintiff was seriously injured, requiring multiple surgies and long recuperation with permanent, life altering injuries.
