Description: On May 4, 1993, Plaintiff was convicted of murder for an October 1991 shooting in Kings County, New York. Plaintiff did not commit the crime. An eyewitness to the murder had a personal problem with the Plaintiff and testified against Plaintiff accordingly. One of the witnesses tried to recant, but was threatened by Mr Shaban at the DA’s office with prosecution for perjury and/or obstruction of justice. Based on coerced and falsified testimony, Plaintiff was convicted and sentenced to 25 year sPlaintiff was imprisoned until 2015, when evidence was uncovered that the prosecution had deliberately lied about material witnesses through more than ten years of post-conviction proceedings.
