Description: On March 10, 2000, Tullie Hyman was in his car outside of his girlfriend’s apartment when gunfire broke out. Hyman fled the scene in his car. Officers Henson and Williams coerced false statements from building residents stating that Hyman was the shooter rather than the victim. At trial, these false statements were used against Hyman, and he was also denied the opportunity to have the guns used in the shootout tested for DNA. Hyman was convicted of second-degree murder, criminal possession of a weapon in the second and third degree, and reckless endangerment; he was sentenced to 21 years to life.
