Description: On August 17, 2012, Plaintiff and his associated were in front of a playground in Manhattan when Defendant Officer O’Brien unlawfully stopped and questioned Plaintiff and asked him to produce identification, while Officer Hazan remained in the patrol vehicle. After Plaintiff told Officer O’Brien that he had no right to demand his identification, O’Brien placed Plaintiff in an illegal sleeper hold until Plaintiff lost consciousness and then beat Plaintiff, causing injuries to his face, which required stitches. Plaintiff was transported to the 28th Precinct, bleeding profusely, and was thrown into a cell without medical attention.
